Personality
Charizard is known for her benevolent, motherly demeanor, going as far as to help any who sought her guidance.
Though, like all deities, the dragon of flames has a vain and vengeful side; people of old told tales of how large portions of land were razed by hellfire which burned for days.
Backstory
Ancient texts tell us that when humanity came into existence, the Sun (Arceus) descended upon the earth, bringing three divine gifts.
The first is a resplendent flame, said to burn vibrantly even through the harshest conditions, bringing warmth, passion, knowledge, destruction, and renewal.
From this very flame came the guardian who would oversee this flame and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands: the first-ever Charizard.
The second gift was a spring, said to rejuvenate anyone who drank from it and even grant immorality, as some boldly proclaimed.
The fountain brought life, purification, and transformation to the barren lands; Blastoise was its guardian.
The last of the gifts was a mighty tree, said to lay deep within the continent, bringing growth, connecting all living things together, and imbuing the land with energy.
The guardian was Venusaur.With these three essential powers set in place, humanity was given the tools to prosper and endure the harsh environment.
To further aid the expansion into hostile environments, each guardian utilized their respective element to create life, starters to be used by the select few.For years, things looked peaceful until greed and a lust for power corrupted humanity, and war erupted between the Kanto and Johto regions.
At first, the focal point was the prospect of land and annexation of the neighboring region. Still, eventually, the warring factions discovered the location of the three divine blessings Arceus gave.
This only fueled the flames, and the guardians struggled to aid surrounding Pokémon and humans in seeking shelter while deterring trespassers; the sources of power began to suffer drastically.
Venusaur was the first of three to suffer as the wars prolonged. More forests were uprooted and burned, and despite the tree's efforts to delay this destruction, it proved too much.
In a desperate effort to keep the tree alive, Blastoise and Charizard redirected energy from their wells of power to supplement the depleting fuel of the great tree.Unfortunately, the next to take the brunt of the hit was Blastoise.
Humanities corruption seeped into the veins of the fountain of youth via pollution, the construction of damns, and power plants, affecting the flow of the blessed waters until they flow no more.On the verge of total destruction, the three guardians took the only course of action they could; Blastoise and Venusaur, on death's doorstep, offered Charizard their remaining energy, entrusting her with living on for their sakes.
Distraught by her companion's sacrifice, Charizard channeled the eternal flame's energy, along with the energy provided by her friends, before releasing it in a nuclear blast. The condensed energy incinerated everything across the region—a complete reset.Afterward, the female dragon fell into a near-eternal slumber, the ever-burning flame subtly beating deep within the region's core like a heartbeat.

Sunshine
This Celestial blessing was given by Arceus, granting Charizard power unlike any of her descendants.
Though she innately has flames capable of burning through solid rock and metal, this ability further powers her destructive capabilities.
Her powers gradually increase at sunrise and reach maximum output at noon.
She passively radiates intense waves of light and heat, easily capable of melting metal, vaporizing stone and water. Many hearken her power to that of the Sun, the source of all life.
